Try switching to "Permissive" in Settings → Sensitivity. WhisperNote needs a little bit of breath-noise to fire — the quieter the room, the easier it picks up the whisper. Holding the phone close to your mouth helps. If a fan is on, you may want to point the bottom mic away from it.
Switch to "Strict" in Settings → Sensitivity. The strict preset requires a higher proportion of high-frequency turbulent noise (the whisper signature) before activating.

By design. WhisperNote ships with zero network access. Adding iCloud would mean we'd have to audit, document, and disclose data flow we'd rather not have.
On your device, in SwiftData. Nothing is sent anywhere. Deleting the app removes everything.
