Common questions

Does QuietSea use the microphone?

No. QuietSea generates audio mathematically on-device — it has no need for microphone input and does not request that permission.

Can it play all night without draining the battery?

Yes. The DSP loop is light — roughly 1% CPU on a recent iPhone. We recommend plugging the phone in for very long sessions just like any other audio app.

I can't hear a difference in binaural mode.

Use headphones. The binaural effect depends on each ear hearing a slightly different tone — it does not work through a stereo speaker.

The timer ended but audio didn't fully stop.

QuietSea fades out smoothly rather than cutting abruptly. The fade length is configurable in Settings — set it to 0 if you want an immediate stop.

Where is my data stored?

On your device, in SwiftData. Nothing is sent anywhere. Deleting the app removes everything.
