Check Settings → Sounds & Haptics → System Haptics is enabled. The Taptic Engine is strongest on iPhone 8 and later models; older devices have a weaker pulse.
That's intentional. PocketBeat has no background audio mode — the metronome only runs while the app is on screen. This is why we built a standalone Apple Watch app for hands-free practice.
