Make sure Microphone permission is allowed in Settings → PitchGarden. Then play a sustained, loud-enough note close to the phone. The detector works best on single, clean pitches — chords or background noise can confuse it.
Yes. Open Settings inside the app and adjust the A4 reference between 430 and 450 Hz. All cents readings and note names update accordingly.
Correct. The ear-trainer only plays tones through your speaker — it never needs to hear you. If you decline microphone access, the tuner becomes unavailable but the rest of the app works.
The Simulator does not capture meaningful microphone audio. Use a physical iPhone for the tuner. The ear-trainer plays fine in the Simulator.
On your device, in SwiftData. Nothing is sent anywhere. Deleting the app removes everything.
