The short version AltLog collects nothing. No account, no cloud, no analytics, no third-party SDKs. Every reading stays on your device.

What this policy covers

This policy describes how the AltLog iOS app (the "App"), published by Ilia Filiaev (the "Developer"), handles your information.

Data we collect

None. The App does not have user accounts, does not require sign-in, and does not communicate with any server controlled by the Developer or any third party.

Data the App reads on your device

Barometric pressure / relative altitude. While a session is active and the App is in the foreground, the App reads CMAltimeter.relativeAltitude from Apple's CoreMotion framework. Each sample is processed in memory to update the running ascent/descent tally.
Session summary. When you tap Stop, AltLog stores a summary (start time, end time, total ascent, total descent, min/max altitude, and a sparse altitude profile) on your device using SwiftData. This data never leaves your device.

Permissions the App may request

Motion & Fitness — required for the barometer. Granted when iOS prompts on first session start.

AltLog does not request Location, Bluetooth, Health, Microphone, Camera, or any other permission.

Third parties

The App contains no third-party analytics, advertising, attribution, or tracking SDKs. No data is shared with or sold to anyone.

Children's privacy

The App is suitable for all ages and does not knowingly collect any information from children or any other users.

Your rights

Because we do not collect or store your data on our servers, there is nothing to access, export, or delete. You can remove all on-device data by deleting the App from your iPhone.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will be announced in the App release notes.
